How to Make Whole Wheat Bread

  1. In a mixing bowl, toss all the ingredients in. Knead the dough until it is barely pulling from side of the bowl.
  2. Grease another large bowl. Dump the dough into it. Cover the bread dough bowl with a towel, and let it rise double the size.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375˚F. Grease two 9×5 loaf pans.
  4. Flour the counter, and dump the bread dough out. Cut the dough in half, for two separate loaves.
  5. Shape the dough into loaves.
  6. How I shape loaves: Using your fingers and knuckles, push down into the dough to create a circle. Then, pull from both sides of the dough, folding each side back into the dough again.
  7. Use your fingers to seal the dough edges. Repeat with the other side. The dough should now be in a tapered shape. Taking the top portion as it is smaller, roll the dough down. For every roll, push your fingers down to seal the new roll and the dough edges. Make sure you’re rolling down, that the dough is the width of the bread loaf pan.
  8. Once rolled all the way, seal the edges, and drop the bread dough into the already greased pan.
  9. Bake until golden for 30 minutes.
  10. Pull the bread out and butter the top while hot, if desired.
  11. Dump the bread loaves onto a cooling wire rack, and let them cool before you cut into the bread. Store in an airtight bag.

I hope you enjoy this bread as much as we do! Toasted, it is AMAZING!! The bread disappears off of our counters quite quickly.
